In his 39-year theatre career, Charles Cosler has designed scenery and lighting for major regional theatres and television, consulted on design of a wide variety of new and historic theatres, and designed award-winning architectural lighting. The work of his firm has been well documented in such trade magazines as Theatre Crafts International, Architectural Record, Lighting Dimensions, Lighting & Sound America, and Live Design. He has participated in panels for the United States Institute for Theatre Technology, Lighting Designers’ Forum, the American Educational Theatre Association, Opera America, and the League of Historic American Theaters.

His awards include the 2002 USITT Architectural Award of Merit for both Summer Stage in New York City and The Richard & Ann Barshinger Center in Hensel Hall at Franklin & Marshall College; the 2001 Boston Society of Architects award for the renovation of the Portland Art Museum; the 1997 Boston Society of Architects award for the Preservation of Jordan Hall; the 1996 Municipal Arts Society award for the De Jur Playhouse/Henry Street Settlement; and the 1994 and 1996 IES Lumen awards for St. James Church Chapel and Jordan Hall, respectively.

Jenifer joins our office after 10 years in the performing arts as a lighting designer, stage electrician, and lighting director. She has designed for theatre, dance, and industrial performances, as well as traveled with touring shows across the country.

After touring for several years, Jenifer accepted a position in Systems Sales and Integration for Barbizon Lighting and Rigging and transferred from production to construction. There, she worked with consultants, architects, manufacturers, and end users on schools, performance spaces, national retail chains, and museums. Now she brings her unique experience of working in theatrical houses all over the country, and working in construction to Cosler Theatre Design.
Matt Brogan, project manager

With a background in both architecture and scenic design, Matt brings a unique combined knowledge to the design of theatrical spaces. Matt holds a degree in art history from Colgate University along with additional coursework at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. As a scenic designer, Matt has assisted Marjorie Bradley Kellogg and David Gallo. Production credits include Gem of the Ocean (Broadway), Bare (Off-Broadway), and the Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus (National Tour) among many educational credits. Recently, Matt worked as an environmental engineer on projects including NBC Studios in Rockefeller Center and with the NYC School Construction Authority. Matt is able to work on all aspects of theatre design and brings a wealth of ideas to the project management and design work of our team.
Kathryn Frawley, marketing manager

Kathryn joins our firm after a twenty year career managing Broadway shows. On four occasions, productions she managed earned top honors for Best Musical and Best Play, as well as the Pulitzer Prize, these productions include The Lion King, Rent, Master Class, and Lost in Yonkers. Ms. Frawley guest lectured for four years at the Yale Graduate School of Drama: Business Administration. Some of Kathryn’s international experiences include opening the first Broadway-bound production in Singapore of David Henry Hwang’s Golden Child; General Managing Sundance Productions, an American subsidiary of BB Promotions, one of Europe’s largest entertainment companies; and bringing the Moscow Arts Theatre back to America for the first time in 75 years. Recently, Kathryn co-produced Here Lies Jenny starring Bebe Neuwirth and choreographed by Ann Reinking. She also co-produced Infertility, the musical that is hard to conceive, based on the real-life stories of five would-be parents and the struggle to have a child.
